VPN Setup Instructions

These instructions are for home computers only.  If you have a CEC issued laptop the setup is performed by IT when the systems are put on the network.

The first step is to determine whether or not you have the 32 or 64 bit version of Windows.  If you have Windows XP you can probably skip this step and go directly to the installation instructions http://apps.cecinc.com/vpn/x32 since 99% of XP systems are 32 bit.

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista you need access the system properties.  To do this, click the orb on the lower left hand side of your screen, then right-click My Computer and select properties.  The image below shows Windows 7 but it should be similar in Vista if you are using the new interface.

Next to the system type you will see whether or not you have a 64 bit or 32 bit version of Windows (see image below).  If you have the 32 bit version, us this link http://apps.cecinc.com/vpn/x32, click on the star for the location of the VPN client you need to install and click run.
